Troxlly Saltwater Chlorinator – FAQs
Everything you need — from connection to clarity.
Installation & Setup
Do I need professional installation?
The TROXLLY system is designed to be user-friendly and supports DIY installation. If you are unfamiliar with pool plumbing or electrical setup, seeking help from a licensed technician is a great option to ensure proper setup.
For detailed steps and requirements, please refer to the user manual.
Can I install the unit vertically or horizontally?
Yes, both vertical and horizontal installations are supported.
Please follow the water flow sensor requirements noted in the user manual.
What is the maximum pool size supported by TROXLLY systems?
Our systems are designed to support pools up to 60,000 gallons. Always match the system to your pool volume for best results.
Model | Chlorine Output | Rated Power | Recommended Pool Volume |
---|---|---|---|
TX-15B | 15g/h | 70W | ≤ 15,000 gallons |
TX-20B | 20g/h | 120W | 10,000 – 25,000 gallons |
TX-25B | 25g/h | 150W | 15,000 – 30,000 gallons |
TX-30B | 30g/h | 180W | 25,000 – 40,000 gallons |
TX-40B | 40g/h | 210W | 30,000 – 50,000 gallons |
TX-50B | 50g/h | 240W | 40,000 – 60,000 gallons |
Can I install it myself?
Installation by a qualified technician is highly recommended. Incorrect setup may void the warranty.
Can I use TROXLLY with above-ground pools?
Yes, as long as the pool has proper circulation and is within supported capacity.
App & Connectivity
How often should I add salt to the pool?
Use the Salt Calculation function available directly on the main interface of the Smart Life app.
It estimates the required salt amount based on your current salt level and pool size.
See full app tutorial: https://troxlly.com/app-control
Does the system work with 5GHz Wi-Fi?
No. TROXLLY works with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, as required by the Smart Life app.
How do I switch between °C and °F?
Tap the Unit button on the panel or switch from the app interface.
Operation & Usage
What is the ideal salinity range?
Keep salinity between 3000–4500 ppm. The system will alert you if levels fall outside this range.
What does “Strong Mode” do?
It temporarily boosts chlorine output. Use it after heavy use or contamination to recover water quality.
Can I use the system in winter or cold weather?
Yes. The system features a Winter Mode for use in cold conditions. However, in regions where temperatures may drop below freezing, we strongly recommend draining and storing the unit to prevent damage.
Please follow all winter operation and maintenance steps as outlined in the user manual to ensure safe usage.
What if I see a lot of bubbles during operation?
Mild bubbles are normal during chlorine generation.
However, ⚠️ excessive bubbling may indicate air leakage or a cracked housing — please carefully inspect all joints and seals.

We’re happy to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Maintenance & Lifespan
Do I need to clean or maintain the electrolytic cell?
The system features self-cleaning (reverse polarity), minimizing manual cleaning. Still, periodic inspection is recommended.
Do I need to clean or maintain the electrolytic cell?
The cell is covered under warranty for up to 15,000 hours or 3 years, whichever comes first.
TROXLLY uses high-grade titanium + ruthenium oxide coating to ensure durability.
What is the lifespan of the electrolytic cell?
It is covered by a 15,000-hour runtime or 3-year warranty, whichever comes first.
With proper use, actual lifespan may be longer.
Is a pre-filter required before the TROXLLY system?
Yes. We recommend installing a sediment pre-filter to prevent clogging and improve durability, especially in areas with high particulate content.
What regular maintenance is needed?
Maintain salt level, clean the pre-filter, check cell condition, and inspect for leaks or corrosion at pipe joints.
Salt Level & Water Chemistry
How often should I add salt?
Most pools only need salt added every few months. Heavy rainfall, splash-out, or frequent backwashing can reduce salt levels. We recommend checking the salinity monthly using a digital salt meter.
What salt level is ideal for my Troxlly chlorinator?
Troxlly systems operate best at 3000–4500 ppm. Staying within this range ensures optimal chlorine production and extends the life of your electrolytic cell.
Can I swim while the chlorinator is running?
Yes. Saltwater chlorinators are safe to run while people are swimming. The system generates chlorine gradually and does not release harmful levels all at once.
How do I know if my salt level is too low?
Your unit may show a “Low Salt” warning, or chlorine production may slow down. You might also notice cloudy water or a stronger pool odor. Use a salt test kit or digital reader to confirm.
Do I still need to check pH and other chemicals?
On average, 3–5 years depending on usage and maintenance. Regular cleaning and keeping your salt level within range will help extend cell life.
What happens if I add too much salt?
High salt levels can shorten cell lifespan and may trigger a system alert. Drain a portion of the pool water and refill with fresh water to dilute the salt level.
Is saltwater bad for pets or plants around the pool?
While mild salt levels are generally safe for humans and pets, pool runoff into gardens or lawns over time may harm plants. Use caution with drainage and splashing.
